Buchanan girls finish fifth at Centreville Invitational

CENTREVILLE – The Buch-anan girls' cross country team finished fifth at the Centreville Invitational on Saturday in the B Division.
Sturgis won the team title with 21 points, while Three Rivers was second with 36 points, Comstock third with 56 points and Lakeland fourth with 68.
Buchanan finished with 77 points, led by Torrie Eger's fifth place finish and time of 20:44.
Elizabeth Hein finished 10th for the Lady Bucks with a clocking of 21:35. Lize Reith was 27th (23:50) and Courtney Adolph 35th (25:01).
Brandywine did not have enough runners to post a team score.
Tyler Weedon posted the best finish for the Bobcats as he was 16th in the boys' junior-senior race with a time of 17:52.
Tom Buzzard was 82nd with a time of 23:00.
Ashley Harrell finished 17th in the girls' junior-senior race with a time of 22:25. Jordenne Ferenczi was 74th with a clocking of 27:29.
In the freshmen-sophomore race for girls, Nicole Newman finished 44th with a time of 27:22, while Kylee Salisbury was 50th in 28:00.
In the boys' race Aaron Sieting was 26th with a time of 27:07.
