’Cats rip River Valley

Brandywine scored 37 second half points to pick up its10th win over season as it cruised to a 70-35 victory over visiting River Valley Friday night in non-conference boys basketball.

The Bobcats (10-9) and Mustangs (3-15) played a close first 16 minutes.

Brandywine led 12-7 after the first quarter and remained ahead by five points at halftime as each team netted 11 points in the second quarter.

After outscoring River Valley 15-10 in the third quarter, the Bobcats erupted for 21 points in the fourth quarter to pull away to the easy victory.

Austin Searles poured in a game-high 21 points, including five 3-pointers for the Bobcats. Alex Erwin and Evan Hartman each finished with 13 points.

River Valley got eight points each from Brian Peterek and Elisha Drvoen.
