Quick start lifts Vikings over Giants, 56-12

NILES – Niles' junior varsity football team picked up its second victory of the season, defeating Kalamazoo central 56-12 on Thursday night.
The Vikings wasted no time as they scored in the first 10 seconds of the game after Kalamazoo fumbled the ball.
On offense, Hunter Krueger, Hugh Hatcher, Bryan Evans, Kyle Miller, Josh Eddy, Zeke Legus and Shayne Pompey provided many opportunities for touchdowns.
Scoring for the Vikings was Matt Bricker, Cameron Sly and Aaron Davis, who had six touchdowns on the night.
Bricker also had a fumble recovery and Sly completed seven extra point attempts.
Cal Poehlman, Hunter Krueger and Mitch Peterek all took charge of the defense, holding the Giants to two touchdowns.
The junior varsity record now stands at 2-1. Next Thursday night they hit the road to face Marshall.
