NILES – It had been a while since the Niles varsity volleyball team had stepped on a court.
But the Lady Vikings didn't show any signs of rust in dusting off host Benton Harbor Wednesday night in Big 16 Conference West Division play.
Niles opened up division action with a 15-9, 15-8 and 15-9 win over the Lady Tigers.
Kaylynn Stephenson led the Lady Vikings (4-3 overall, 1-0 SMAC West) with four kills. Maddy Peterek and Stephanie Stoops each finished with three kills.
Bryanna Cramer led the team in digs with two, while Patty Anton and Brittney Wolverton both finished the night with two aces.
Samantha Brawly had eight assists and Demi Schrader five assists.
The Lady Vikings return to action on Saturday as they take part in the Portage Northern Invitational.
