ST. JOSEPH — A former St. Joseph city fire captain has been charged with four crimes in connection to allegations that he was “sexting” with a teenage girl.
Berrien County Prosecutor Arthur Cotter said Wednesday he charged Scott Moore with two counts of accosting a minor for immoral purposes and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime, a seven-year felony.
It is alleged that during summer 2011, Moore solicited a 15-year-old girl to send him pictures of herself topless via cell phone. He is also accused of watching the girl expose her breasts to him during online video chats solicited by Moore.
Moore, who reached a voluntary separation agreement with the city of St. Joseph in October, is expected to turn himself in and be arraigned within a week.
