The Edwardsburg varsity basketball team opened up its 2005 season with a 41-26 victory over host New Buffalo Monday night.
Edwardsburg (1-0) advances to the finals where it will meet Michigan Lutheran, a 58-55 winner over River Valley Monday night.
The Lady Eddies outscored New Buffalo 16-10 in the first half and then 26-16 in the second half to account for the lopsided victory.
Chrissy Breisch and Kerri Wood both had eight points for Edwardsburg, which also got seven points from Lindsay Mellonberndt and five points from Nikki Focht.
New Buffalo was led by Charlynn Blumberg's eight points.
