Bucks claim 7-1 victory over Chieftains

BUCHANAN – Buchanan and Dowagiac opened up the dual meet portion of their 2007 season on Wednesday with the Bucks taking a 7-1 victory.
Dowagiac's lone win came at No. 1 singles where Collin Boyll defeated Jamie Whitfield 6-3 and 6-2.
Buchanan got singles victories from Taylor Oake, Tyler Toney and Holly Lucas.
In doubles, Harper Sulier and Grayson Oake, Max Gorton and Tyler Siebert, Zack Devereau and Evan Cauffman, along with John Haslock and Ryan Henckel all posted victories.
"Dowagiac is a young tennis team and a hard working team," Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said. "With this hard working attitude, it is going to pay off."
Dowagiac jumps right back into action today, weather permitting, as it travels to Niles to take on Brandywine at 4 p.m.
