Bring on the games.
A week from today high school football will begin in Michigan.
It is hard to believe that not only has a year gone by, but also summer is over as far as high school athletics is concerned.
Niles and Dowagiac opened up their girls' golf seasons earlier this week and now it is time for the remaining fall sports to break into action.
Niles will host its fifth annual Viking Stampede cross country meet at Dowagiac Middle School (DMS) on Saturday.
There will be several outstanding cross country teams at this event, so make the trip on over to DMS and check it out.
The Brandywine cross country team will also be in action on Saturday as it takes part in the South Bend Stampede at St. Patrick's Park.
Next week, tennis and soccer teams will open up their seasons leading up to Friday night's season opener for football.
All of our area football teams are looking to have outstanding seasons.
We want to wish good luck to all our fall sports teams as they begin competition and set their sights on conference, division and state championships.
