Shirley Meyers, 72

Shirley Faye Meyers, 72, of Niles, passed away at her daughter’s home after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Shirley’s life began on June 7, 1939, in Marion, Ark., the daughter of Jake and Beulah (Isabel) Speckem. She was a graduate of Berrien Springs High School. Shirley was united in marriage to Terry L. Meyers on Sept. 8, 1967, in Cassopolis.

She was employed by Pawating (Lakeland) Hospital in Niles. Shirley was a faithful member of the Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church where she enjoyed Bible study and attending worship.  She very much enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time with her daughters.

Her loving family includes her husband, Terry Meyers; children, Donna (Phil) Lee, of Granger, Diane (Patrick) Stauffer, of South Bend, and Teia (Kelly) Adams, of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Austin and Aaron Adams, Joshua (Kayla) Meyers, and Clint and Trever Stauffer; sisters, Irene Radcliff, Mary Lee Ferguson, Gerry Strong and Lorene Cummings.

She is preceded in death by her son, Terry S. Meyers; sisters, Margaret Lewis and Lizzie Speckem; and one brother, Louie Junior Arnold.

Her family will gather with friends from 11a.m. to 1p.m. Friday at Yazel & Clark Chapel, where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. led by Pastor William Dugen.

She will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles.
