Coulter needs charm school training

Ann Coulter should be a contestant on next season's Mo'Nique's Charm School.
I'm sure you'd agree, Ms. Coulter is in need of some charm training.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the VH-1 reality show, comedian and actress Mo'Nique was rightly horrified at the behavior of the women who were contestants on The Flavor of Love, vying for the affections of Flavor Flav, who a long, long time ago was someone of note among Hip Hop performers.
The resulting television show was a train wreck of bad taste, bad behavior and bad, bad judgment. I mean, the man is the definition of the word gross.
The fact that women – even buxom, trashy, high school-dropouts – would want anything to do with him, much less compete to be his "woman," is mind boggling.
Anything for money and that 15 minutes of fame.
Like most train wrecks, some people, like myself, couldn't help but watch.
Mo'Nique's Charm School was much the same, though with better intentions. My favorite episode was the Charm School Prom. If you saw it, you know what I mean.
When I heard about Ann Coulter's recent brush-up with Elizabeth Edwards, wife of presidential candidate John Edwards, my first thought was Coulter needs some of Mo'Nique's charm training. She'd fit right in with Brooke, Leilene, "Buck Wild" Becky and the gang.
Coulter, who in the past has said John Edwards should have a bumper sticker on his car that reads, "Ask me about my dead son," and has inferred that Edwards is gay, recently said she wishes he would be killed in a terrorist assasination plot.
Mrs. Edwards called in to the Chris Mathews show on which Coulter was a guest and challenged her to cut out her nasty, hateful remarks and instead, debate real political issues.
Of course, that's not something Coulter would do, because she's not at all interested in real political issues.
She is, however, interested in money and she's found a successful formula for calling attention to herself.
Who, exactly, does Ann Coulter think she's fooling? Apparently, she's fooling lots of us, if you judge by her book sales.
Coulter is the epitomy of everything that's wrong with America. However, if you think she really believes the nasty stuff she spews, you're wrong.
What she is, is a great marketer, among the ranks of the likes of Madonna and others who have made millions and millions of dollars by exploiting shock and our society's apparent insatiable need for blood, guts, sex and anger.
I discussed with those in our graphics department my thought that Coulter should be a contestant on next season's Charm School.
They agreed and made another pretty darn good suggestion for a candidate: Court TVs Nancy Grace.
Excellent choice, I think.
Let's throw in Rosie O'Donnell, while we're at it.
Now, that would make a reality show worth watching.
