Area baseball teams playing well in post season action

BERRIEN SPRINGS – The Berrien Springs Tournament continues play this weekend with several area teams still alive.
On Thursday night, the Howard Township 8-year-old squad defeated St. Joe Maize 22-3. the Howard Township 7-year-olds were defeated by Lakeshore 14-6.
Brandywine dropped a 20-4 decision to Coloma.
In the U8 Division, Brandywine is 0-2 in Pool 1, while the team in Pool 2 is 3-0.
Howard Township's team in Pool 3 is 1-1, as is its entry in Pool 4.
In the U9 Division, Howard Township was 2-1 heading into Thursday night's play.
Play continues to night and on Saturday as the tournament begins to turn its focus onto the championship round.
Dowagiac has a team left in the tournament as its Pony Division team posted a 2-1 record in pool play and ended up the second seed.
Dowagiac will play on Saturday at 11 a.m.
