No luck for Michigan teams

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Day two of Sports Fest brought cooler temperatures, but the same hot action on the field or courts.
Michigan's girls' soccer team took it on the chin as the Metro squad posted an 8-1 victory to advance to the championship game against Indiana East, which defeated Indiana West 7-0.
Michigan was also defeated in boys' tennis by the Metro All-Stars, 4-1.
The Metro squad will face Indiana East in the championship match. East edged the West, 3-2 to advance to the finals.
Michigan found out its opponents for the championship games in baseball and softball on Tuesday night as the first round was completed at Bethel College.
Michigan, a 7-6 winner on Monday night, will take on Indiana East, which won a slugfest over Indiana West, 22-11.
The softball all-stars will face Indiana East on Thursday. East slipped past Indiana West on Tuesday, 4-3.
Sports Fest 2007 continues today with soccer and basketball first round action.
Michigan will take the Metro All-Stars at 6 p.m. in boys' soccer. Indiana East and Indiana West will play at approximately 8 p.m.
In basketball, the boys' teams take to the court tonight.
Michigan will face the Metro at 6 p.m., while action will wrap up with Indiana East and West squaring off at 8 p.m.
Thursday will begin the championship round in five sports.
Tennis will kick off the day at 5 p.m., with softball and baseball beginning their title games at 5:30.
Girls' soccer will decide its championship at 6 p.m., while the boys' will play at 8 p.m. Both games will be played at Marian High School.
Volleyball will hold its title match beginning at 7 p.m.
