Bank robbery attempt fails

CASSOPOLIS – The Cass County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred at the 1st Savings Bank, 15534 US-12 in Union.
Two armed males of unknown race attempted to enter the bank at approximately 4:14 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22.
Upon entering the doorway to the bank, they were spotted with weapons by bank employees. The suspects fled back out of the bank doorway and were seen leaving the parking area of the bank and traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Union Road towards Indiana in a newer tan-colored Ford F-150 extended cab pickup.
The subjects are described as average height and build, possibly younger males. One of the subjects was wearing an "urban" camouflage (black, grey and white) hat and shirt and a black pair of pants and carrying a handgun of unknown type. It is unclear at this time what the other subject was wearing.
There were no injuries and no money was taken from the bank.
