Gordon Fickes

Gordon Lee Fickes, formerly of Niles, was born in Jackson  to Ralph and Olga Fickes. On July 1, 1939, he married Frances Yelape at St. Mary’s Church in Niles.
Preceded in death are his parents, Ralph and Olga; his wife, Frances; sons, Robert and William; and his half-sister, Marlene.
Surviving are his half-sister Anita Noles; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Frances and Gordon lived most of their married life in Niles before venturing out in 1982 and moving to Mesa, Ariz.
Gordon served in World War II in Germany.
Both Frances and Gordon loved to travel and they were avid square dancers for many years.
Gordon was a pilot and owned his own airplane and they frequently took weekend trips.
Gordon started his own photo finishing business in the basement of his home before moving to downtown Niles.
Service memorial to be held at St. Mary’s Church in Niles at a later date.
