Eau Claire no match for Bobcats

NILES – Visiting Eau Claire put up no big threat to Brandywine's varsity tennis team Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats claimed an 8-0 victory, and most players held their opponents scoreless.
Tyler Espick (No. 1 singles), Billy McDonald (No. 2 singles) and Travis Bakeman (No. 3 singles) all posted 6-0, 6-0 wins. No. 4 singles player Tyler Weeks posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
Jeremy Hechtl and Dan Whitney grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Matt Harvey and Joel Perry won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. Greg Beaver and Ethan Mason took a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles and Kyle Low and Taylor Brenner posted a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4 doubles.
On Tuesday evening, the Bobcats faced Lake Michigan Catholic and posted a 7-1 non-conference win.
Espick, McDonald and Bakeman all were victorious at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, respectively. Trey Brenner suffered a loss at No. 4 singles.
In doubles place, Hechtl and Whitney won in the No. 1 position, while Harvey and Perry, Beaver and Mason and Low and Brenner won at No. 2, 3 and 4 doubles.
Brandywine will have the next two days off before hitting the road for the South Haven Invitational on Saturday.
