You may only go there to renew your driver's license, or when you buy a new car and need a title.
The Secretary of State's office though is much more than a wait in line for a picture which is less than acceptable.
The Secretary of State's office is continually sending out press releases in an attempt to better the state for all its residents.
One way the office assists is through the Michigan Gift of Life and the Michigan Eye-Bank. There are many people in the state, mothers, fathers, youth and even babies, all waiting for an organ transplant to either save or better their lives.
A single donor can benefit up to 50 people.
Last year nearly 600 residents of the state received a lifesaving organ transplant. Unfortunately more than 3,000 others are still waiting.
Registering to be an organ donor is easy and can be done over the Internet, or at a local branch office of the Secretary of State.
If you have questions, visit www.Michigan.gov/organdonation for more information.
An organ donor heart sticker will be given to you to put right on your driver's license. This is easily seen by emergency personnel in the case of an accident or sudden death.
Be informed and if you chose life for others, sign up today.
