Bucks take 13-1 win over Eau Claire Saturday

BUCHANAN – The Buchanan varsity baseball team hosted the Buck Classic on Saturday, but rain spoiled the tournament as only one game was finished.
The Bucks took on Eau Claire and grabbed a 13-1 victory in five innings.
After being tied 1-1 in the first inning, Buchanan got the ball rolling in the third, scoring two runs, followed by five in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Tyler Knisley was the winning pitcher for Buchanan. He provided nine strikeouts in four innings pitched. Josh Mills also saw time at the mound.
Mitchell Plott led the Bucks at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and five stolen bases.
Jon Mondschein went 2-for-3 with a double. Mills went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Jordan Woodrick went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Aaron Koziel added a triple, while Zach Powers had a double.
The Bucks will hit the field again on Thursday when they host Bloomingdale at 11 a.m.
