NILES – Karen Leblang of Fifth Third Bank and long-time community volunteers Harold Finley and Larry Sehy have been elected to serve on the volunteer board of directors for the United Way of Greater Niles.
"Our community is very fortunate to have these quality individuals donate their time and talents to help lead our local United Way," said executive director, John Stauffer.
The new members will help replace retiring board member Jim Zaher of Niles Precision Co. and recently departed Gary Rider Superintendent of Brandywine Community Schools.
Campaign volunteers and board members will be honored at the United Way's annual meeting to be held this year at 5:15 p.m. on May 16 at the Salvation Army facility at 424 N. 15th St., Niles.
The United Way conducts fundraising year-round and welcomes pledges at any time to support local charities. Donations may be sent by mail to the United Way at P.O. 375, Niles, MI 49120 or made online with major credit cards at www.unitedewayniles.com. Donations are used to help fund local non-profit agencies that provide services in the greater Niles area. More than $10 million has been raised for local charities by the United Way of Greater Niles since its founding in 1953.
