Vikes win in three overtimes

NILES – The Niles varsity basketball team traveled to Marshall Friday night for a Big 16 match-up and ended up winning a thriller game in three overtimes.
The Vikes posted the 73-69 win, improving their record to 4-3 overall.
After four periods of play, both the Vikes and Redhawks were tied at 59. After the first overtime, the score was tied at 65 and after the second it was tied at 67.
Danny Rodts led the Vikes with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Kurt Bourbonnais had a career high 16 points, including two 3-pointers. Damian Bryant score 12 points and coach Todd Pawielski said he played very well at the guard position. Mat Peters added seven points and eight rebounds for the Vikings.
Niles will travel to South Bend Clay tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game
