Niles third at youth tourney

The Niles Vikings finished third place in their division at the recently held Michigan State Youth Bowling Tournament held in Jackson.

The tournament was held over several weekends with youth bowlers from around the state competing as teams of four, doubles and singles.

Joey Armadillo’s Youth League sent several teams.

The Niles Vikings, consisting of Grant Gourley, Noah Frantz, Stingray Jaynes and Mathew Lee finished third with a score of 2,743 in the Boys’ C (with handicap) Division. With their third place finish each earned scholarship money from the Michigan State Youth Bowling League.

The team will head to Flint to compete in the 2012 state tournament.
