NILES – Ann Gaines, a local realtor with Coldwell Bank Real Estate Specialists in Niles, knows how to get moving – literally!
After four months of training and more than one blister, Gaines completed the Chicago Marathon on Oct. 22.
It was her first shot at a full marathon and "an amazing experience."
Gaines also received pledges from her fellow agents and community members and as able to raise more than $2,000 for Trinity Lutheran School in Berrien Springs, where her three children attend.
"Running Chicago was an unbelievable experience. They say 2.1 million spectators watch the race from the curbs and I think it's true. Their cheering, coupled with running with over 35,000 fellow marathoners makes you feel like a superstar and motivates you to forge ahead," Gaines said.
