The Edwardsburg varsity volleyball team defeated Bridgman Wednesday, Jan. 26 to pick up its first Lakeland Conference victory.
The Lady Eddies defeated the visiting Lady Bees, 18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 18-25 and 15-11.
Sarah Lange led the Lady Eddies with 24 assists and five aces, while Shelley Roberts finished with 15 digs and four aces.
Ashley Turner finished with a team-high 10 kills and four aces, while Megan Moyer added 19 digs and Jessica Wolfe added nine kills.
On Monday night the Lady Eddies fell to Decatur in a non-conference match, 9-25, 25-17, 16-25 and 12-25.
Moyer finished with 14 digs and Kelli Kretchmen 11. Sam Fritschi finished with 11 kills and Turner 5.
Nikki Thompson had 37 assists for the Lady Eddies, who also got two aces from Susanna Martino.
Edwardsburg, which is 1-4 in the conference and 8-18 overall, was scheduled to travel to Three Oaks Wednesday night to take on River Valley.
The Lady Eddies are also scheduled to play in the Bronson Invitational on Saturday.
