CASSOPOLIS - The staff and students at Sam Adams Elementary School were beaming when they returned to classes following last Wednesday's snow day - not because of having the day off - but from the announcement that Sam Adams has achieved Michigan's Blue Ribbon status.
Sam Adams is the first of the Cassopolis Public Schools to achieve this feat. Principal Suzanne Hague couldn't be more pleased. She was applauded at the Cassopolis School Board meeting Monday evening.
Eagle Lake Elementary School also achieved Blue Ribbon status also, making Edwardsburg the only district in the state with all schools receiving Blue Ribbons.
