Niadah T. Havener, 86, of South Bend and formerly of Seventh Street in Niles, died at 5:34 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Millburg, Mich., to Arlene Noack. She lived in Niles most of her life.
She was first employed at the Avalon Ballroom at Barron Lake for 14 years, and then at Electro Voice in Buchanan, retiring in 1987 after 32 years of service. She moved to South Bend in 1998.
Niadah was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles. She enjoyed yard work, flower gardening and sewing.
She first married in 1946 to LaVern Arthur Myer, who died in 1960. In 1966 she married LeRoy Havener, who died in 1982.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Gregg Milan Myer, who died Sept. 14, 2003; stepsons, John Myer, who died Feb. 10, 2000, and Jerry Myer, who died May 28, 1996; and grandson, Greg Myer II, who died Nov. 6, 2006.
She is survived by her companion, Michael George Wetmore of South Bend; son, Dale Edward Myer of Stevensville; daughter, Denise Marie Fowler of South Bend; stepdaughters, Madelyn Crocker-Aldord and Mildred Burger, both of Niles; grandchildren, Darlene Pugh, Junior Zarobinski, Dale Edward Myer, Michelle Myer, Tammie Herrman, Annette Myer, Andy Zarboninski and Raymond Zarboninski; and by the Whetmore family and many friends.
The prayer service for Niadah T. Havener will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C., of St. Mark Catholic Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Monday beginning at 2 p.m. and continue until the time of the service.
Interment will be Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
