• Pirate Party is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday for preschool through fifth-grade students.
The library will be decorated like a pirate ship.
There will be games, prizes and treats.
Tickets are available at the elementary schools and the library.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Come dressed as a pirate or in your favorite Halloween costume.
Note that the library will close at 3 p.m. Thursday to prepare for this event.
• Story time Halloween party is Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume at 11 a.m. Enjoy Halloween stories and craft!
•Jack Knight Cafe is closed today and Thursday. See you Nov. 1.
• The library is now offering downloadable e-books, audio books, music and DVDs.
Just go to the library website and click on the Overdrive E-book icon or ask for details at the front desk.
• Adult craft classes include making a necklace and bracelet on Nov. 3.
On Nov. 17, make a beaded ornament.
On Dec. 8, make a fresh green arrangement. Two sessions are offered at 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 2 p.m.
Registration is required. Classes will be held in the local history room. Limited space available.
•Tutors are needed. College students, retired adults, stay-at-home parents may be interested in tutoring. Email Sarah at s.gault@buchananlibrary.org .
• Donations for the Library: Our Jack Knife Cafe for fifth- through eighth-graders is in search of a PlayStation2 game with remotes.
Also we need a rug or carpet to put in the cafe. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
