CASSOPOLIS — Midwest Energy and Communications is offering four $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors toward their trade school or college education. 

Additionally, up to two winners will be able to apply for a second scholarship after completing their first year of trade school or college.

To be eligible to apply, students must:

• Receive monthly service from MEC at their family’s primary residence.
• Submit an official transcript.
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a four-point scale. 

Students must complete a brief video challenge to apply. Winners are chosen based on video submissions, as well as: 

• Academic performance 
• Extracurricular activities 
• Community involvement and/or employment 
• Honors and awards 

Children of MEC employees and board members are NOT eligible to apply.

The deadline to apply is Monday, March 17, 2025. Winners will be announced in the spring.
