Woman injured in two-vehicle LaGrange Township crash

LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP — An 85-year-old woman was hospitalized Wednesday following a two-vehicle crash in LaGrange Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that at approximately 08:37 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle personal injury crash at the intersection of Pokagon Highway and Dailey Road.
Investigation shows that Dylan Vantubberger, 24, of South Bend, failed to yield the right-of-way to a vehicle traveling westbound on Pokagon Highway. The vehicle traveling westbound was driven by Reid Walter,28, of Cassopolis, who crashed into Vantubberger. Vantubberger’s passenger, Zilda Alburitel, 85, was taken to St. Joe Medical for injuries sustained in this crash.
Seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in this crash.
Cassopolis Fire and SMCAS ambulance assisted at the scene.
