NILES — Downtown Niles will soon play host to an event filled with fall festivities.
Niles Main Street DDA is gearing up to host its annual Niles Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 26. The event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including arts and crafts, tours, special business deals and more.
On Saturday, festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. with a pumpkin carving and painting contest hosted by the Niles Art Commission. Participants must bring a pre-carved or decorated pumpkin to the Niles History Center and cash prizes will be given in four age categories.
Carriage rides will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and the 25th annual Downtown Safe Trick or Treat will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Families can come downtown where businesses will be offering candy to children. From 5 to 8 p.m. an artisan market will take place on Main Street that will feature several local artisans and vendors.
In addition, local businesses will feature special deals throughout the day and the Niles History Center will offer a self-guided tour of the facility.
