Niles cross country sweeps Fennville Open

FENNVILLE — The Niles cross country teams made their presence known in last Saturday’s Fenn Open in Fennville.
The Vikings boys and girls teams both took first place in the event. The boys tallied 44 points and runner-up Parchment had 46. Sophomore Beau Kirkdoll finished fourth overall with a time of 18:29. Teammates Liam Pesce (18:56), Ceon Kirkdoll (18:56) and Jacob Erickson (19:41) placed seventh, eighth and 14th respectively.
For the girls, the Vikings scored 35 points to earn first place, eight points ahead of runner-up Martin. Senior Charlie Drew (21:34) took third place for the Vikings while Claire DevlescHoward (23:06), Kloe Kiggins (23:29), Khloe Matlock (23:31), Kylie Conn (24:23) and Aubrey Jackson (24:45) sixth, ninth, 10th, 14th and 17th places respectively.
