January 16, 1947 – August 31, 2024

Charles “Chuck, GP, Dickie, My Daddy” Jackson Easterling, 77, of Vandalia, died Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the comfort of his family’s presence. His life began January 16, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the first of five siblings. He married Sandra Warfield, December 11, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.

Chuck retired from Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman in 2010 after thirty years of service.

He enjoyed drafting and designing homes and systems for work and pleasure. He spent time researching and learning about his ancestors in the attempt to create his family tree. Chuck enjoyed building and fixing whatever was needed in his spare time.

He enjoyed kayaking with his son and brother, but most of all, he loved to laugh and spend time with his family. Chuck will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Jackson Easterling; two daughters, LaShundrea (Quentin) Weatherspoon, of South Bend, Nicole (Eric) Steward of Vandalia; one son, Charles Jackson Jr. of Vandalia; six grandchildren, Jordan, Caila, Emmanuel, Vashti, Japhia, Tre; two great grandchildren, Ziona, Ja’siah; two sisters, Barbara Jackson, Cynthia Jackson; two brothers, Greg Jackson, Larry (Debi) Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jackson Sr. and Bessie Easterling, as well as his brother William Jackson Jr. 

Family and friends will gather Friday, September 13, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

Chuck will be laid to rest in cemetery at Prospect Hill in Cassopolis.
