BUCHANAN — The Buchanan soccer team blanked host Dowagiac 3-0 in Lakeland Conference action Wednesday.

Mason Frontczak scored a pair of goals for the Bucks, who are now 4-1-1 overall an 1-0-1 in league play.

“I felt this is the best game we have thus far this season,” said Buchanan Coach Ryan Haines. “Rather than pushing the envelope and getting tired quickly, we let the game come to us and we were able to capitalize on the Dowagiac’s mistakes.”

Dowagiac Coach Joey Pasternak was happy with elements of the match.

“We had our best game moving and possessing the ball as a team today,” said Dowagiac Pasternak. “The boys did a good job especially in the first half, but I think we got a little anxious that we weren’t scoring and started to force the ball rather than letting the game come to us and finding the space in the final third. They capitalized on us pushing too far forward and being out of shape to put in some goals. I like where we are and we can start to fine tune some things that should help us win some more games.”
