DOWAGIAC — After helping her team beat the No. 22-ranked McHenry County Scots last weekend and setting the SMC record for digs in a single match with 32 in a defeat of the Edison State Chargers, Cadence Knight has won the MCCAA Western Conference Defensive Player of the Week for each of the first two weeks in the 2024-2025 campaign.
Now, the NJCAA is paying attention and has named the Niles graduate the National Division II Defensive Player of the Week for her 103 digs in 17 sets played at the Owens Invitational.
Knight and the Roadrunners next take the court versus the Delta Ducks, the Macomb Monarchs – the team that knocked them out of the district tournament last season – and the North Central Michigan Timberwolves on the road at the Macomb Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.
