NASHVILLE — Former Dowagiac and Ferris State University standout Caleb Murphy has once again made the initial 53-man roster for the Tennessee Titans.
The second-year edge rusher was not listed among the Titans’ listed cuts after the team was forced to trim its roster to 53 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday per NFL rules. More roster shuffling is expected to take place, however, as players from other teams could be claimed, or acquired via trade in the coming days.
Signing with Tennessee as an undrafted free agent, Murphy appeared in three regular season games in 2023 and tallied two tackles. This preseason, Murphy has tallied five tackles including a three-tackle performance Sunday at New Orleans.
Murphy will be suiting up for his second coaching staff in as many seasons as first-time head coach Brian Callahan was hired to replace Mike Vrabel, who was fired following an 11-6 season.
Tennessee will open the 2024 season on the road in Chicago against the Bears on Sept. 8. The Titans will play at Detroit Oct. 27.
