Michael Wells, 78, of Dowagiac died at The Timbers of Cass County on July 16, 2024.

He was born in Elkhart, IN on Oct. 5, 1945 to Ruby and Leonard Wells.

Mike attended public school in Elkhart before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and eventually studying Education at Western Michigan University. Mike excelled in music from a young age, specifically with percussion instruments. He was known throughout Cass County, MI as a meticulous interior painter and for many years was never seen without his beloved dog, Kelsey.

Mike was active as both an actor and with set construction at Beckwith Theatre Company and was often seen volunteering with the Dowagiac Town & Country Garden Club.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents as well as siblings Pam Beam, née Wells and Bill Wells. He is survived by one nephew, Eric Landes of Florida, a half-sister and close friends.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 2-5bp.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 at the Dowagiac Elks Golf Course & Country Club. Family and friends are welcome to share memories and celebrate a life well lived. Light refreshments will be available. In lieu of flowers, friends suggest donations be made to Beckwith Theatre Company or the Dowagiac Town & Country Garden Club, both organizations Mike felt strongly about.
