Hallmark Home Mortgage opens first Michigan location

EDWARDSBURG — An Indiana mortgage lending company’s first Michigan location has opened its doors in Edwardsburg.

Hallmark Home Mortgage hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the opening of its new lending center in Edwardsburg at 68817 Cass St. The property was formerly home to CARMI Design Group. 

The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based company offers a wide selection of traditional loan products, construction loans, specialty products, refinance programs and more. The event was catered by mobile beverage service Red Truck and Trailer.

“We’re just super excited to be able to bring Hallmark Home Mortgage to Michigan,” said Branch Manager Nikki Welsch. “This is our first branch in Michigan and it is special for it to be in my hometown. We look forward to servicing a whole bunch of families in Southwest Michigan along with our Indiana customers.”

According to Welsch, Hallmark Home Mortgage is the only independent mortgage office in Edwardsburg.

“In Cass County, (independent mortgage offices) are few and far between so we thought it would be a good place to at least start to get our footprint into Michigan,” she said.

Hallmark Home Mortgage will be open Monday through Friday by appointment. For Welsch, the new location emphasizes Hallmark’s commitment to serving Edwardsburg and southwest Michigan for years to come.

“We are really big into community involvement,” she said. “It’s not just about doing mortgages and helping people on that personal level but also helping the community in general and being there to support everybody.”
