NILES — Brandon Rasler moved up a flight, but the result was the same as last year as he captured the B Flight championship at the Niles City Golf Tournament at Plym Park Sunday afternoon.

Rasler won the C Flight title in 2023. This year, he outdueled Dan Ditto to earn a second straight city championship.

Rasler shot 170, to edge Ditto by a stroke as he shot 171. Chuck Ditto finished third with a 176.

Frank LaPorte captured the Championship Flight title with a four-stroke victory over Josh Townsley.

LaPorte shot a 147 over the two days of the tournament, which was pushed back a week after flooding due to torrential rains forced postponement of the event. Townsley finished with a 151, which was one shot better than Jacob VanDyle, who shot 152.

The A Flight championship was decided by a single stroke on Sunday.

Jim Ditto shot 164 to edge Cody Durham, who finished with a 165. Tony Gaideski finished third, two shots back, with a 167.

Mac Gaideski won the C Flight Championship with the largest margin of victory.

Gaideski shot 173 to defeat runner-up Trent Kater, who shot 181, and Jackson Gaideski, who finished with a 182.

On Friday, the City Tournament’s Youth Division title was won by Gavin Trexell, who shot 59. Noah Fletcher was second with a 62.
