CASS COUNTY — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office announced this week the addition of a new K9 member to the department.
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke announced the addition of “DD” – Dispatch Dog – a new K9 member provided by Cass County Animal Control.
“This initiative aims to enhance the well-being of our dispatchers and other personnel by offering a source of comfort and stress relief,” the CCSO stated in a press release.
DD was found as a stray by Cass County Animal Control Deputies. Cass County Animal Control Director Ron Butts saw the potential in DD to make a significant impact in a supportive role. Thanks to the training provided by Top Notch Service Dogs, DD has joined CCSO and will live at the 911 center, where she will be readily available to provide comfort and support to dispatchers and other personnel during their shifts.
“DD’s presence is expected to contribute significantly to reducing stress and improving the overall well-being of our team members, further reinforcing our commitment to serving the community with dedication and care.”
