Mayhem move into first-place tie with Los Cubs

NILES — The Midwest Mayhem moved into a tie atop the Michigan Adult Baseball League standings with 5-0-1 with Los Cubs after six weeks of play.

South Bend Opossum are currently in third place at 3-1-2, while UnionBoyz are fourth at 4-2.

West Michigan Diamond Jaxx and the Niles Knights are tied for fifth at 3-3. Rounding out the standings are the Buchanan Bandits (2-2-2), Midwest Lightning (2-4), Southwest Coyotes (0-6) and Blackwater White Sox (0-6).

The Mayhem blanked the White Sox 13-0 last Saturday, while the Opossums played to a 5-5 tie with Los Cubs.

In other games on Sunday, the Lightning defeated the Coyotes (15-3), UnionBoyz edged the Diamond Jaxx 4-3, and the Knights defeated the Bandits 6-1.

Week 7 will kick off with an extra game tonight at Thomas Memorial Stadium between the Mayhem and the Cubs at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, the Coyotes take on the Knights at 1 p.m. and the Mayhem face the Diamond Jaxx at 3:30 p.m.

Three games are set for Sunday.

At 11 a.m., the Bandits face Los Cubs, while at 1:30 p.m. the White Sox take on the Lightning. The final game of the day will have UnionBoyz taking on the Opossums at 4 p.m.
