VOLINIA TOWNSHIP — A Lawrence woman was hospitalized following a single vehicle crash Wednesday in Volinia Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that at approximately 7:39 p.m. Wednesday, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Decatur Road and Fosdick Street in Volinia Township.
Investigation shows that 31-year-old Jenequa Parsons, of Lawrence, was traveling Westbound on Fosdick Street when she swerved to avoid a deer. Parsons lost control of the vehicle going up an embankment and overturning before coming to rest in a bean field on the North side of the roadway. Parsons was able to extract herself from the vehicle and was transported to Borgess Lee hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
Seatbelts were worn and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting in this crash was Wayne Township Fire and SMCAS Ambulance service.
