CASS COUNTY — A suspect has been arrested in the stabbing of three people in Silver Creek Township, police said Saturday morning.

Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke reports that at approximately 11 p.m. Friday, June 21, his office received notification from a resident on Spring Lake Rd in Saint Joseph County Michigan that John Coons was in her driveway.

Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Saint Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, and Troopers from the Michigan State Police responded and were able to take Coons into custody after he surrendered peacefully.

Sheriff Behnke would like to thank the assisting law enforcement agencies as well as the members of the public who provided tips and information that made the resolution of this incident possible.
