BUCHANAN — Children dashed and splashed across the Common Wednesday afternoon as the Buchanan City Fire Department hosted its “Spray Day” event.

A high-powered sprinkler rained down cool water on community members seeking reprieve from the sweltering heat experienced this week.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has provided tips for staying cool during hot days.
