BUCHANAN — It was a tale of two games as rivals Buchanan and Niles squared off in non-conference softball Thursday afternoon.

Hailee Kara scattered five hits and struck out eight without a walk in the first game to earn the victory.
The Bucks (25-2) banged out 12 hits, including two each by Caitlyn Horvath, Kara, Cameron Carlson and Keegan May. May and Kara both doubled. Aspen Berry and Camille Lozmack both homered for Buchanan.
The Bucks scored 12 runs in the fourth inning to blow the game open.

In the nightcap, Buchanan scored five runs in the sixth inning to erase a 6-2 Niles advantage.
