Edward “Clark” Cobb, 70, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday evening, May 7, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.
Clark was born on Sept. 29, 1953, in Saginaw, MI, the son of the late James and Josephine (Kelman) Cobb.
On Dec. 30, 1978, he was united in marriage to Kathleen A. Hilliard.
Clark was a bus driver for Dowagiac Public Schools for 30 years, until his retirement. He was very proud to serve 12 years as a Cass County Commissioner from 2008-2020. Clark was also well known in the area for being in several local bands and teaching guitar lessons. He had a passion for astronomy, photography, camping and reminiscing about all of his many life experiences. His granddaughters were the light of his life and he loved more than anything being their “Papa”.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years – Kathy Cobb; their four children — Aaron Cobb, Leah Cobb, Ashley (Mike) Briney and Brittany Cobb; four grandchildren — Lillian Cobb, Eisley Briney, Copelyn Briney and Natalie Green; brother — James Mark (Pattie Rangel) Cobb; sister — Vicky Cobb-James; and several nephews.
A service to celebrate Clark’s life will be held at 4 p.m., on Friday, May 17, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
