BENTON HARBOR — The Dowagiac golf team continued its stranglehold on the field as it won yet another Lakeland Conference Jamboree.

The Chieftains shot 186 at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor to easily outdistance runner-up Buchanan, which shot a 210. Berrien Springs was third with a 211 and Brandywine fourth with a 241.

The host Tigers did not have enough players to post a team score.

Travis Rehborg took his turn as medalist after he shot a 42.

Dowagiac also got a 43 from Dane Spagnoli, a 49 from Luke Spagnoli and a 52 from Jeremiah Bond.

Buchanan was led by Tyler Miller’s 49. Brady Wright and Brock Dye both shot 59 to lead the Bobcats.

The league will wrap up its regular season next Friday as Dowagiac hosts the final jamboree at Hampshire Country Club.
