MSP issues warning over landscaping scam

SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — The Michigan State Police has issued a public safety announcement regarding a new scam that is on the rise in southwest Michigan.
MSP has received information about a scam involving a group interacting with residents in southwest Michigan, identifying themselves as a landscaping/logging company and providing quotes for small jobs. While at the residences, it is alleged they have been casing the properties for valuable items and coming back a few days later to steal boats, trailers, trucks, 4-wheelers and more.
So far, no suspects or involved vehicles developed. Additionally, the MSP does not have any open cases regarding this scam. If anyone has any knowledge about this scam or feels they are victims of it are asked to contact Tpr. Lanphar of the MSP Marshall Post at (269) 558-0500.
