Cass County celebrates Day of Prayer at ACTION Ministries

DOWAGIAC — ACTION Ministries joined millions of others throughout the country in dedicating Thursday to prayer.
Hosted annually on the first Thursday in May, National Day of Prayer is a nondenominational celebration of prayer celebrated across the U.S. ACTION Ministries celebrated the day with a continental breakfast and several community members from throughout Cass County.
ACTION Ministries’ Jeff Neumann led those in attendance in worship music, and various community members took turns leading prayers for different sectors of the community. Those individuals included:
- Pastor Tom Shepard of Dowagiac Seventh Day Adventist Church, praying for churches
- Ambrosia Neldon, Cass County marketing and communications manager, praying for the media
- Longtime educator and volunteer Bill Grabemeyer, praying for educators and students
- Veteran Bob Graham, praying for the military
- Howard Township Supervisor Bill Kasprzak, praying for government
- Jacques Brikha, a Syrian native, sharing the Aramaic Lord’s Prayer
The event was attended by approximately 40 people.
