HOWARD TOWNSHIP — A 61 year-old Niles man and a 74 year-old Niles man were both injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Howard Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that at approximately 12:20 p.m., his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Leet Road and Beebe Road in Howard Township, Cass County.
Investigation shows that a vehicle driven by David Culp, 61, of Niles, was traveling southeast on Beebe Road. Anthony Lauricella, 74, of Niles, failed to yield when turning from Leet Road onto Beebe Road, causing the crash.
Culp was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash while Lauricella was transported to Lakeland Niles hospital for his injuries.
All involved parties wore seatbelts. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. This crash remains under investigation.
Assisting in this crash were Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division, SMCAS Ambulance Service and Howard Township Fire Department
