My name is Michael J. Majerek, I am running again, In the beautiful city of Niles, on the St. Joseph river, for Berrien County Commissioner.
My pledge to the voters of District 12 is to work effectively with both the public and all our elected officials to address problems throughout our county.
I believe in accountability, in attendance and in finance. I have attended over 97 percent of my expected meetings only missing 6 meeting in 6 years and having worked for many organizations, boards and as past presidents. Furthermore, I know how budgets work and I will do all in my power to follow through with a balanced budget. I will cut expenses where I can without hurting services to our community.
I believe in working with all as a team in improving our law enforcement, the judicial system, health, and mental health department, transportation, 911, parks, animal control, parks and economic development. Building our road department and infrastructure and improving a better quality of life for all our citizens is important.
I thank our volunteers, for they are the backbone of our communities. I want them to know I have been a volunteer and know what they do without being paid to do it. They know they are valued in our community by the county as a whole. I have been a volunteer, with food kitchens now, Mental Health Board, Brownfield Authority, Chamber of Commerce past President, Past board of Lakeland Hospital Foundation, Downtown Development Authority, Boy and Girls Club, Breakfast Exchange Club, Orchard Hills, St Marys Financial and Adoption Agency of Ogden and many others.
I will work hard at meetings, which I know is where I learn the most about issues. Not only to listen to the other 11 Commissioners, but the employees who have a wealth of information and truly care for the community and making it a better place to live in Michigan. I know I work for the people of the County and the city of Niles and I will continue to serve the taxpayers of Berrien County, District 12 and the City of Niles.
Michael J. Majerek,
Niles
