CASS COUNTY — With a strong track record in law enforcement and deep community ties, Cass County Undersheriff Clint Roach has announced his run for Cass County Sheriff.
Roach is presently serving in his eighth year as undersheriff. The current Sheriff, Richard J. Behnke, recently announced his retirement. He plans to continue to grow and move the office forward as he has done under current Sheriff Behnke.
Undersheriff Roach majored in criminal justice at Lake Michigan Community College and is a 1989 graduate from the Kalamazoo Valley Police Academy. Roach is a graduate of Northwestern University Staff and Command, and FBI leadership training.
Roach was hired by the City of Dowagiac in 1990 before joining the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in January of 1993. He left the Sheriff’s Office in 1999 and went on to own and operate a successful private business until his return to the department in 2011. Roach has worked road patrol and served on the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team until January 2017 when he was promoted to Undersheriff.
“My experience in law enforcement and my passion for serving our community have prepared me for this role,” Undersheriff Roach stated. “I am committed to ensuring public safety, enhancing trust between law enforcement and residents, and creating a safer county for all.”
Undersheriff Roach resides in Dowagiac with Nanette, his wife of 38 years. He has two children, Katelynn and Adam, and three grandchildren, Emmett, Charlotte and Josephine.
