NILES — A local business will be closing its doors later this month.
Gabrizio Italian Café and Bakery, 104 N 3rd St. Suite 1, announced Thursday it will be permanently closing its Niles location after nearly five years in business, citing “circumstances out of our control.” According to its newsletter, Gabrizio’s last day will be Sunday, April 28.
“We want to take a moment to thank all of our loyal customers for your support over the years,” the newsletter stated. “Due to circumstances out of our control, we will be closing our doors permanently. We are grateful for the opportunity to have shared our love for authentic Italian sweetness with you all.”
Desyréé Alberganti opened Gabrizio in September of 2019. The bakery and cafe offers a variety of items including signature coffees, coffee grounds, non-caffeinated beverages, pastries, sandwiches and cakes. Some menu items accommodate for allergies, food intolerances and dietary choices. Last year, Alberganti opened a sister cafe in Granger called Caffé Capriccio, 210 Perspective Dr Suite 200. While Gabrizio will soon be closing its doors for good, Caffé Capriccio will remain open for business.
“While this decision was difficult, it was also necessary,” the newsletter stated. “By closing, we choose to not compromise the service and quality we provide while showing due respect to our business partners and team members. It has been an honor to be part of the Niles community for the last 5 years. We look forward to serving you all the way until our last day, April 28.
Please join us at our sister coffee shop after that date.”
